I'll admit that Palin "held her own" in the debate last night, but she still has an utter lack of knowledge and experience. This was clear when she immediately began dodging questions by talking around them, and decided she was going to go back to other questions she liked and was comfortable answering.
I heard very few tangible examples to support any of her answers. Palin is good at using her comfort words, "maverick", "change", "American people", but all of these are vague. I'd love to know what she really thinks without all the verbiage. At some point, you have to say something substantive, not use so many words people lose interest. She'd be wise to consult one important rule of writing: don't use 5 words where 2 will suffice. In her case it might read: don't use 5 words where 2 will suffice, unless you don't know the answer.
It would have been nice to see the moderator force her to answer the questions, not equivocate. If this would have been the case, we would have seen the true face of her hollow guarantee of having the experience, and the knowledge required to be V.P.
The following quote from Mark Twain, a real American icon, seems applicable to Palin's new found popularity and "success",
"It is strange the way the ignorant and inexperienced so often and undeservedly succeed when the informed and experienced fail"
