Those of you who know us well may know that we are together in the first place because we were set up in 2005 on a blind date to chaperon the prom for Delta High School, where Luke was a class sponsor along with my former boss and family friend Mary. We met once before the 2005 prom for drinks then spent over 12 hours together on our prom date. We have been together since. Tonight marks the five year anniversary of the night we met - so we figured we would celebrate by posting a few pictures from last night's prom.
Dinner at Sullivan's Steakhouse. Our table was 5 feet or less from a long table at which 18 Eagle River HS students were sitting for their pre-prom meal.
The stairwell and fountain in the atrium at the Anchorage Museum. The folks that did the decorating did a pretty awesome job. The prom's theme was "Fire and Ice."
On the second floor of the museum, looking down at the dancers below. The artwork on the walls was all made by Anchorage School district students.
Dancing. The museum would not turn the lights down - perhaps because they were afraid that people would deface or damage the student artwork on the wall. Whatever the reason, students were a bit disappointed at the fact that they had to dance in the light - but they seemed to have a good time, anyways. The DJ only played two slow songs during the entire four hours. The funny thing is that both were songs that were old enough to have been played at my high school proms 10 years ago. Apparently slow songs haven't been made since!
Our 2010 prom picture, on the stairs. The last two pictures are from our first from on April 2, 2005. It was at the Paramount Theater in Anderson, IN.
