Soccer Trip to Juneau April 23rd-25th

This year Eagle River High School's boys and girls soccer teams were invited to travel to Juneau, AK to play two weekend games against the two teams there--Juneau Douglas and Thunder Mountain. Juneau Douglas has a well established program and has won several state championships, whereas Thunder Mountain just opened this year and are still struggling to find their game. Predictably, we got beat by Juneau-Douglas and did really well against Thunder Mountain's team.

Juneau is well known for rain and dreary weather, but somehow chance favored us and we got two sunny days in the upper 50's, a true anomaly according to Juneau natives. The players had a good time and were even invited to Juneau Douglas's dance on Saturday night. The pictures below do a better job summing up the weather and our trip.

More ice field on the way in. A local said some entrepreneurs were attempting to take chunks from the glacier to provide water to lower 48 spots with dried up aquifers, like Vegas.
