The east side of Anchorage finally reached 70 degrees today!! We never saw 70 in June... and it was the first June since 1986 that never had a 70+ degree day. We arrived just in time for the coldest June in 22 years!!(Note: the temps recorded at Elmendorf Air Force Base and Merril Field are the closest representations of what the weather is doing at our house. The Anchorage observation is taken at the airport, next to Cook Inlet. The areas along the inlet are cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.)
On another note... the picture below is one that my dad took at his farm of us with Elsa and his dogs in May, before I flew to AK. I really liked the picture.
